Kim was a good girl last night and did not attempt a break out. Her bed is much more comfortable with Joni’s pad on it and Kim is definitely weaker so the real story is that the thought probably did not cross her mind. I was able to give her meds at 11:30, 2 and 5 am that helped with her labored breathing. They helped and that kept her peaceful too.
This morning after a sponge bath and change of clothes, she wanted to know if I thought I was dressing grandkids. The blue pants and the green Kamp Kim camo shirt was not a fashion statement she would ever make. People would think she lost it. I told her that I would write and sign a full and complete confession. This is it.
We had a visit from Pastor Jackie this morning who offered communion, a mediation, prayer and comfort. Kim was also able to have a frank discussion about some of her funeral planning desirers. They talked about music and scripture. They talked about pallbearers. When Pastor Jackie asked what her thoughts are about people sharing stories and memories during the service, Kim smiled really big. She said she liked the idea but would really like to hear those stories. Pastor Jackie assured her she would.
In the meantime, we communicate and relive stories daily by going through old pictures, and by reading cards and emails from friends and family who have started us on this journey down memory lane.
See what wonderful support you are.
Thank you,
Thank you,
Jan
